The inside scoop:
we filled out a questionnaire, so they could better understand what kind of trip we were looking for and what we wanted out of our honeymoon. It asked questions about our travel habits, lodging desires, budget, adventure preferences, and overall expectations of our trip. Then from there, we had a meet-and-greet via Google Hangout. We explained that we were open on location as long as it has a few key factors. I was looking for somewhere warm with beautiful landscape and charm. I am a bit of a beach bum and am looking forward to relaxing and soaking up the sun. Bryan, on the other hand, doesn’t mind relaxing for a bit, but he has a hard time sitting still. He was looking for something with activity, history, and adventure. We are planning to leave right after the wedding, so we needed a location in late September with a great weather forecast.
we received our preliminary plan. This is what allé put together to start the process of helping us choose where to go. This part was one of the most exciting but also one of the hardest decisions to make. Our preliminary plan came back with: Crete, Greece; Sunshine Coast of Australia; Sicily and Malta, the largest islands in Italy; Curacao, Aruba, and Bonaire in the Dutch Antilles; and Portugal. They are all such amazing places—how does one decide? Can we go to all of them? After going back and forth many times, we finally decided on Portugal!
was our planner working their travel magic with booking, reserving, and coordinating all aspects of the trip. Our final trip plan in allé’s app includes our detailed daily agenda with all the confirmations for transportation, accommodations, and experiences. It’s also fully integrated with Google Maps, so we shouldn’t have to ask for directions or use a paper map. It’s so nice to have everything in one place! An added bonus is allé’s 24/7 concierge, so if we need anything while on our honeymoon, they are just one click away.
We chose Portugal because of its vibrant country that offers adventure, great beaches, and wonderful cuisine. Portugal is home to excellent wine and food, as well as some of Europe’s most remarkable historical attractions. We are headed to the Algarve region on the coastline, and spending our last days in Lisbon. The Algarve region is world-famous for surfing, water sports, and its charming small towns that dot the coastline. We can’t wait to fall in love with the entire region.
